STEP 2: After your bookmark is colored, use a single-hole punch or pen to punch a hole about 1/2" from the edge of the bookmark.

STEP 3: Hold the end of your yarn down with your thumb and start wrapping the yarn around 3-4 fingers. The more you wrap, the thicker your pom-pom will be, but be careful to not wrap too tight. Once you reach your desired thickness, cut the yarn from the rest.

STEP 4: Cut a piece of yarn about 6" long.

ree

STEP 5: Slide the 6" piece of yarn between your fingers and wrap it around all the yarn. Start to tie a knot.

ree

STEP 6: Slide the pom pom off your fingers and tighten the knot around all the yarn. You'll want that knot as tight as you can get it.

ree

STEP 7: Clip the loops on both sides of the pom pom.

ree

STEP 8: Fluff your pom pom and give it a hair cut, to even up all the ends. Leave the 2 long tails from the strip you created the knot with.

ree

STEP 9: Put one end of each long tails through the hole in the bookmark.

ree

STEP 10: Wrap the ends up and tie a knot.

ree

STEP 11: Enjoy your new custom bookmark!
