About Me
My name is James and I'm originally from Roanoke, Virginia. Nice to meet you!

I'm a veteran having served on active duty in the United States Army. During that time, myself and my spouse, Pam, lived primarily in Upstate New York and Oahu, Hawaii. I'm also a first generation student/professional. This means that I'm the first in my family to attain at least a Bachelor's degree and beyond!

While growing up, I always saw the classroom and reading as a safe place and this has always been my inspiration in my own classroom, with an overall goal of creating a place where everyone regardless of background can see themselves getting an education.

Outside of education, I can be found watching classic films (especially Universal Monster and Godzilla films!), playing video games, or reading comic books. Also, I love reading and my favorite childhood books were Chika-Chika Boom Boom!, as well as James and the Giant Peach (for obvious reasons - haha!).

Last adult book I read: "How to do nothing: Resisting the attention economy" by Jenny Odell.
